O’Reilly / APCUG Quarterly Book Program
Virtual Conference #3
Virtual Digital Photo SIG
1.    O’Reilly Books. If your group has opted into the O’Reilly / APCUG quarterly book program, the books and e-Book certificates will be to your group’s contact this month.
2.    Virtual Conference #3. APCUG (the international computer organization your group belongs to) is having its third virtual conference via the Internet on Saturday, May 5. It will run from:
Eastern - 1:00pm – 5:50pm
Central - 12:00pm – 4:50pm
Mountain - 11:00am – 3:50pm
Pacific - 10:00am – 2:50pm

There are two tracks; the presentations are 50 minutes each. You may attend one or more presentations on either or both tracks.

EVERYONE SHOULD REGISTER for both Track1 and Track2, even if they are only planning to attend presentations in one track. After they register, they will be sent a personal iLinc log-in that should not be shared with anyone since it is their unique log-in. Participants should use a headset to avoid feedback or echoing. If they do not have one, Instant Messaging will be available for any questions or comments.
TEST DRIVE: If anyone would like to tryout iLinc prior to the Virtual Conference, there will be a training session on April 28, at 12:01pm Eastern. There are also step-by-step instructions at http://apcug.net/virtual/

3. Virtual Digital Photo SIG. In APCUG’s ongoing effort to add member benefits, the Central Florida Computer Society
(www.cfcs.org) invites you and your UG members toattend their Virtual Digital Photo SIG meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 16,at 7:00pm, Eastern time.
Hewie Poplock, CFCS Digital Photo SIG leader, will be covering several photography and photo editing tips and tricks, aimed at beginners and intermediate photographers.
If your user group doesn’t have a Digital Photo SIG, this is an opportunity for your members to participate in an online DP SIG. If your group has a Digital Photo SIG, it’s an added opportunity for those members to enhance their skills.
The SIG meeting will be held via iLinc. To register, everyone will need to go to https://apcug.ilinc.com/perl/ilinc/lms/event.pl
 .Participants will be asked for their first and last name and email address. They should check the box for the correct session. (It may be the only one.) They will be sent a unique login and should not share that link as it is assigned to them. Participants should use a headset to avoid feedback or echoing.
